In summer of 2009, Chaos Kid set up a MySpace page with tracks 1, 2 and 4 available for free download. Only released on cassette tape, the EP was never released commercially, and its content has become very rare. Released on October 14, 1992, this EP contains two sets of tracks: The Soul Side (track n° 1 & 2) and The Intent Side (track n° 3, 4 & 5). DJ Butter Fingers/Butteh Fingiz (Mathew Ruby) - DJ, co producer. Manix (Michael Ruby) - producer, drum programming, MC. MC Double M/M&M/ Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III) - MC. Manix and DJ Butter Fingers are still active in producing music and currently reside in Metro Detroit. On September 28, 2011, Chaos Kid committed suicide. On April 11, 2006, Proof was shot and killed during an altercation at the CCC nightclub in Detroit. The only other rapper on that EP is Proof (formerly Maximum). He was pursuing his own band The Some of Wizdum. As such, they were only able to scrape enough money together to release an EP titled Backstabber, the two songs being Backstabber" and "Biterphobia". Recording enough songs for an album between 1992 and Fall 1994, the group had to settle on only releasing two songs from those sessions because of a lack of funds and hard times for three of the members. Shortly afterward, in early 1992, the group changed their name to Soul Intent. During this time, another member joined the group, a rapper named DeShaun Holton who then went under the moniker "Maximum", but would later be better known as "Proof". Bassmint Productions became regular favorites of Lisa Lisa's open mic night on 96.3 WHYT almost every Friday night for three years. They released a few EPs on homemade cassette tapes, including "Steppin' onto the Scene", while M&M and Chaos Kid released solo EPs. Stezo remained a auxiliary member, with the addition of another member Vitamin C (Jason Fields). In late 1989, both groups dissolved to form Bassmint Productions, which consisted of MC Double M (who changed his stage name to M&M and later Eminem), Chaos Kid, Manix, and DJ Butter Fingers. Both groups were only active from 1988 to 1989. Hype-n-Effect, formed by producer and rapper Manix (Michael Ruby) and DJ Stezo (Steve Mackiewicz) and New Jacks, formed by MC Double M (Marshall Bruce Mathers lll) and DJ Butter Fingers (Mathew Ruby). Bassmint Productions (1989-1992) īassmint Productions was a hybrid of members of two separate hip-hop groups, each including one of two twin brothers.
